After a 35+-year career in education (Pre-K – 14), collaborative sales, and sales management and marketing, Pam started her first writing and editing business, Writing It Right For You, in July 2008; expanding to her second, Detroit Ink Publishing, in 2012; and her third, Your Business Your Brand Creatively, in 2014.
Pam works with solo professionals, creative freelancers, small businesses, and marketing departments of larger enterprises in fifteen countries on a variety of writing, editing, publishing, productivity, branding, and marketing projects.
In 2016, Pam started hosting a weekly podcast: “The YB2C Live! Podcast for Entrepreneurs.”
Pam holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Special Education/Education and Sociology and a Master’s Degrees in English/Language Arts, Curriculum Development, and Psychology. Pam also has a Reading Specialist Certification from the State of Michigan and several business licenses.
In the middle of 2008, a determined woman who is a former teacher, a former college professor, and a former sales manager decides to start a business so she will no longer have to work for others. It was also the middle of the Great Recession, but she wasn’t thinking about that. She was really just thinking about opening the next month. Relying on her writing and editing skills, and her sales experience, she opens her doors on July 7, 2008. One year passes, and then another and another. As a freelance business owner, she experiences the highs and lows that all business owners go through. But one day, she looks around, and it has been TEN YEARS since she started and she’s a success, with three separate but related businesses and a podcast! Success just didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen!

Title: A writer who is also a successful businesswoman – and how she did it
Pamela has been an inspiration to me as a fellow writer who has been running successful businesses. And I was delighted to see that she has encapsulated her experience and wisdom in an easy to read book.
The book is lucidly written, is easy to read and should help creative writers find the entrepreneur in them.
Full marks for a fellow writer across borders who is generous enough to share nuggets of wisdom with us.
